WWDC 2025 Highlights Apple’s Catchy App Review Song

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) has become a spectacle of personality and levity, but this year’s event took it to a new level with a delightful surprise – an app review song. The moment the curtains rose on a grand piano, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the final three minutes of a full band performing real reviews of apps.

The idea isn’t original, but Apple executed it perfectly. Each review was heartfelt and humorous, poking fun at both popular apps like Citymapper and less well-known ones like Lost in Play. It was as if the internet’s wisdom “don’t read the comments” had been distilled into gold.

This catchy tune managed to encompass all of WWDC’s usual elements – developer enthusiasm, splashy production, and legitimate entertainment. And for those who hummed along long after the stream ended, the video is now available on YouTube, performed by soul/R&B singer Allen Stone.

The success of this idea has earned Apple a well-deserved six out of five stars from me. As WWDC comes to a close, it’s clear that Apple will continue to prioritize entertainment and personality in its events, making them more enjoyable for both attendees and viewers at home.
