WWE Cuts Multiple Talent Amid Injury and Creative Shifts

WWE has released several wrestlers amid ongoing talent cuts. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Giovanni Vinci have been let go, according to reports from PWInsider and Fightful.

The releases come as WWE continues its efforts to trim its roster. Sources within the “NXT” brand believe the cuts are linked to upcoming main roster call-ups from development. The affected wrestlers include Isla Dawn, Blair Davenport, Sonya Deville, the Authors of Pain, Paul Ellering, and Cedric Alexander.

Karl Anderson was released during his injury rehab due to a torn labrum and rotator cuff, with an expected recovery time of 3-6 months. Luke Gallows had not wrestled in 2025 prior to his release. Giovanni Vinci’s departure marks the end of his stint on the “NXT” roster after joining as Fabian Aicher via the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

Vinci was part of Imperium, a stable that initially debuted on “NXT UK,” where he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Marcel Barthel. However, when the rest of Imperium was called up to the main roster in 2022, Vinci remained on the “NXT” roster and re-debuted as Giovanni Vinci under the new character. After Vince McMahon’s departure, Vinci was reunited with Imperium but struggled to regain his spot after being pushed down the card.
