WWE Monday Night RAW has unseated Squid Game as the top show on Netflix’s US list, just a week after its debut. The new acquisition, which is part of a reported $5 billion deal, will air every single week for a decade. This unique move marks a significant shift in traditional streaming services like Netflix.
RAW clocks in at 183 minutes, with a massive 3-hour premiere episode featuring The Rock and other returning stars. Unlike other Netflix shows, it features commercial breaks, similar to WWE’s past events. With over 1,650 episodes already available on the platform and hundreds more to come, RAW is set to dominate the list for an extended period.
Squid Game remains a top performer, but its viewership numbers have been steadily increasing since its debut. Although its exact week-one numbers are still pending, analysts expect them to be record-breaking, similar to the show’s initial premiere. Squid Game season 3 is set to arrive in 2025, with possibly as early as June.
Other notable shows on the list include Missing You, Virgin River, and La Palma, while The Equalizer has joined the ranks. Netflix is predicting a record year for its content, with RAW marking a new era of live content for the platform.
Update: Squid Game has now reached 58.2 million views in its first week, making it the second most-viewed non-English Netflix series of all time. The show is on pace to surpass its predecessor’s total viewership and may break more records in the future.
