WWE NXT went back on the road for its latest episode, which saw two tag team title defenses, a women’s singles match, and more. Here are the hits and misses from last night’s show.
The standout hit of the evening was the women’s tag team match between ZARIA and Ruca and the Meta-Girls. This match showcased Jackson and Legend’s experience in tag matches, setting them up for future success.
In contrast, Jaida Parker’s match against Wren Sinclair felt like a standard outing. While it was a good win for Jaida, the match itself didn’t bring anything new to the table.
The WWE NXT Tag Team Championship match between Fraxiom and an unspecified opponent was not well-received by this writer. The team’s chemistry was on point, but their performance was ultimately marred by Shawn Michaels’ failure to pull off a key moment.
A different story unfolded with Ethan Page’s promo against Je’Von Evans. This writer loved the way Page used his facial expressions to convey emotion, particularly the iconic “lost my smile” line. It was a great example of how WWE can craft memorable moments without overusing old promos.
On the other hand, Trick Williams’ match against Eddy Thorpe felt like a step forward in terms of creative direction for Thorpe’s character. The controversy surrounding Thorpe shaving Shawn Michaels was the highlight of the show, but its impact will be felt when it airs on TV.
Overall, WWE NXT delivered some strong performances and memorable moments. However, this writer wouldn’t rate the episode higher than 6 out of 10.
