WWE Sets Record for Social Media Views at Royal Rumble

WWE has expanded its social media presence with its successful Royal Rumble event over the weekend. The sports entertainment company reported a record number of social video views for the event, with an encounter between wrestler Bron Breakker and streamer IShowSpeed becoming the most-viewed Royal Rumble post.

IShowSpeed, who appeared at WWE events like WrestleMania 40, has more than 35 million YouTube subscribers. Logan Paul, also participating in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match, has over 23 million subscribers.

WWE now boasts over 100 million subscribers on YouTube, surpassing major sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, and NHL. The event saw merchandise sales surge by 95% compared to last year’s record, while sponsorship revenue jumped 94%.

The Royal Rumble set a viewership record, with Jey Uso winning the men’s match and Charlotte Flair winning the women’s. The event was held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as part of an agreement with Indiana Sports Corp.

This partnership will also bring WWE events to other locations in the state, including Fort Wayne and Evansville. WWE claims a combined economic impact of over $300 million for its major events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble.
