Kamala, whose real name is James Harris, is reportedly being considered by WWE for induction into the 2025 Hall of Fame class. Harris passed away in 2020 at the age of 70 due to complications from diabetes and COVID-19. He had a notable wrestling career, competing for various promotions including the WWF, WCW, and USWA.
Harris was best known as “Kamala,” but he also performed under other personas such as “Sugar Bear” Harris, “Ugly Bear,” and “Big Jim.” As Kamala, he faced iconic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Jerry Lawler. After his wrestling days, Harris transitioned to a career as a truck driver.
Triple H, Michelle McCool, Lex Luger, The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon), and Demolition are among those already confirmed for the 2025 Hall of Fame class. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 18 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas BleauLive Theater in Nevada, with a live broadcast on Peacock in the US and Netflix internationally.
