xAI’s latest AI chatbot model, Grok 3, briefly blocked sources mentioning Elon Musk and Donald Trump from its reasoning when asked about the biggest spreader of disinformation on X. Igor Babuschkin, a cofounder of xAI and its head of engineering, said an unnamed employee made the change without authorization, calling it “obviously not in line with our values.” The employee was previously an OpenAI staffer who had not fully absorbed xAI’s culture yet.
