Xavier Worthy Accused of Assault, Charges Dropped

A woman who accused Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy of attacking her has been granted a protective order against him by a Texas judge. The district attorney declined to pursue charges after investigating the incident.

The accuser, Tia Jones, was living in Worthy’s home and had been asked to leave multiple times due to infidelity allegations. She allegedly destroyed property, scratched his face, and ripped out parts of his hair. Worthy told law enforcement he did not want to press charges against her.

Worthy’s attorneys claim she made the false allegation as an “extortive effort” after being denied entry to the residence. The Chiefs are still gathering information on the situation. Jones is cooperating with law enforcement, seeking justice through the formal legal process.
