Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy is suing his ex-fiancée Tia Jones in Williamson County, Texas, over allegations of theft and assault. Worthy claims that Jones destroyed more than $150,000 worth of property and assaulted him after he asked her to leave a residence she was staying in.
Worthy alleged that Jones became enraged when he told her she had to leave, and instead of leaving amicably, she began a series of abusive efforts against him. She allegedly damaged his game room, including a PlayStation 5 console, and caused physical harm by scratching his face and ripping out parts of his hair.
The lawsuit seeks damages between $250,000 and $1 million, including punitive and exemplary damages. Worthy claims that Jones schemed to extort valuables from him by making false stories of domestic violence and leaking them to the press.
Jones had previously been granted a protective order against Worthy, but no charges were filed against him after he was arrested in Texas on an assault charge.
