Xiaomi Corp. has launched its new flagship smartphone, the 15 Ultra, priced at €1,499 ($1,560), in an effort to expand its presence in the premium market dominated by Apple Inc. The device features a quad-camera system underpinned by Sony Group Corp.’s expensive image sensors and Leica Camera AG optics.
The 6.7-inch 15 Ultra is part of Xiaomi’s refreshed product lineup, which also includes a new smartwatch, electric scooter, and wireless earbuds. According to market tracker Canalys, Xiaomi led growth among smart personal audio brands in 2024, while its smartphone shipments grew by 15% despite the top two brands declining.
The company’s success in the electric vehicle sector has contributed to its rising stock value, with Hong Kong-traded shares surging over the past year. The 15 Ultra shares this trend with a faux-leather back design similar to Xiaomi’s car interior finishes.
