Xiaomi is set to launch its highly anticipated flagship phone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, later this month. The new device will likely feature a 200MP periscope camera, which is a significant upgrade from last year’s model. This camera will be combined with a Samsung HP9 sensor and a 4.3x lens.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will reportedly have a 50MP main camera, a 50MP 3x telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. These cameras are similar to those found on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but with some key upgrades. The periscope camera is a major improvement over last year’s model, which had a 50MP 5x periscope.
In a recent post on Weibo, CEO Lei Jun discussed the company’s performance and sales figures. He mentioned that Xiaomi has seen significant growth in sales, with its market share ranking second in the Chinese market.
The launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to coincide with the release of another new device, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra car. However, no official release date has been confirmed for either device yet.
Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun also shared a teaser image from the phone, which shows a blurred face due to the periscope camera’s large sensor size. The image was taken with a 100mm lens and an f/2.6 aperture.
