Xiaomi XRING 01 Chipset Fails to Deliver Promised Performance

Xiaomi’s XRING 01 chipset, touted as a high-performance alternative to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400, failed to impress in benchmark tests. Despite initial claims of impressive scores, the device struggled to match its competitors.

The first major discrepancy was discovered by an independent reviewer, who found that the XRING 01 scored 13% lower than expected in the AnTuTu V10 benchmark. This score was significantly lower than the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400, which both secured higher scores.

The disparity in performance can be attributed to ambient temperature, which affects various components, including Xiaomi’s in-house chipset. The chip, produced on the same TSMC 3nm N3E process as its competitors, failed to deliver expected results due to this factor.

Notably, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite secured a higher score than the XRING 01, despite featuring custom Oryon cores and a more powerful configuration. Similarly, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 outperformed the XRING 01, with its slightly different specifications also contributing to the disparity.

The XRING 01 is currently only available in the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, leaving it unclear how the chipset will perform in other devices. Further analysis through teardown clips may provide more insight into the chip’s capabilities.
