A devastating explosion at a fuel station in Yemen’s Bayda province on Saturday killed 15 people and left dozens injured, including 40 in critical condition. The blast triggered a massive fire that sent plumes of black smoke into the sky.
Rescue efforts are ongoing to search for those reported missing. Footage showed charred vehicles and burning debris, highlighting the extent of the destruction.
The Yemen conflict, which began in 2014, has caused widespread devastation. A Saudi-led coalition entered the war in 2015, backed by the US, in an effort to restore the internationally recognized government.
The civil war has resulted in over 150,000 deaths, including civilians and fighters, making it one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. The ongoing conflict has largely stalled, with Bayda controlled by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
