Yemen Gas Station Explosion Kills at Least 15 People

A deadly explosion and fire at a gas station in central Yemen has claimed the lives of at least 15 people, according to health officials. The incident occurred on Saturday in the Zaher district of Bayda province, where Houthi rebel forces are in control.

The blast triggered a massive fire that injured over 67 people, including 40 who are critically ill. Rescue efforts are ongoing to find those reported missing. The cause of the explosion remains unclear.

Footage circulating online shows extensive damage and smoke-filled skies. Yemen’s civil war began in 2014, pitting Houthi rebels against the internationally recognized government. The conflict has killed over 150,000 people and is considered one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
