Yemen Targets Israel and US in Missile Strikes

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) launched missile strikes against Israel and a US aircraft carrier in the Red Sea on March 20. The attacks marked the second time YAF has targeted Israel since the start of an all-out war on Gaza, which has killed over 700 people.

Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv as a result of the attack, forcing millions to rush to shelters. One missile was intercepted by Israeli forces outside their airspace, and 13 people were treated for injuries while another three suffered from anxiety.

YAF also targeted US warships in the Red Sea, using drones and missiles for the fifth consecutive day. The group said it would continue to target Israel despite Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which have killed over 700 Palestinians.

The US has been bombing Yemen since January 15 in response to YAF’s blockade of Israeli ships in the region. Saturday’s airstrikes on Sanaa killed at least 51 people and injured around 100.

The conflict in Gaza escalated on March 18 when Israel resumed its genocidal war on the strip, killing over 700 Palestinians.
