Yoon Suk Yeol Resists Interrogation in Prison Cell

South Korea’s impeached former President Yoon Suk Yeol refused to be questioned by prosecutors while lying on the floor of his prison cell, he was wearing only a sleeveless top and prison-issued briefs. The move sparked outrage from his lawyers, who claimed that their client suffers from underlying health issues making cooperation with the investigation difficult.

Prosecutors had obtained an arrest warrant for Yoon over allegations of election tampering and insurrection following his attempt to impose martial law on December 3. However, they were unable to bring him in due to his strong refusal.

Instead, they issued a statement informing Yoon that if he did not cooperate, they would use physical force in the next attempt. Yoon’s lawyers have described the prosecution as showing “a disturbing disregard for basic human decency” and claim that the real-time report of their client’s clothing was “personal humiliation”.

The former president faces multiple charges related to his actions, including election tampering and insurrection. His case has caused significant turmoil in South Korea, with many questioning his motives and actions.
