Young Scooter’s 39-year-old son, Kenneth Bailey Jr., has spoken out after his father’s sudden death on Friday, March 28, in a tragic incident involving the Atlanta Police Department (APD). The rapper was responding to a 911 call about a dispute when he allegedly fled from police and suffered an injury that led to his demise.
Bailey took to Instagram Stories to share emotional posts, criticizing the APD and expressing his grief. He described himself as “broken into a million pieces” and questioned why the police wouldn’t tell him the truth about his father’s condition. The son also paid tribute to his father, calling him a “good” person who didn’t deserve this fate.
The APD confirmed that a 39-year-old man died after injuring his leg while fleeing from police. Although they confirmed Scooter as the deceased individual, they haven’t shared the identity of the other person involved in the incident.
Other celebrities, including Waka Flocka Flame and Playboi Carti, have also paid tribute to Young Scooter on social media. The rapper’s music career was marked by his childhood friend Future and fellow rapper Waka Flocka Flame signing him in 2013.
