YouTube TV Carries 23 Networks, Including CBS and Nickelodeon, in Renewed Deal

YouTube TV has reached a carriage renewal with Paramount Global, averting a blackout of 23 networks including CBS, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. The deal includes the inclusion of Paramount+ With Showtime on YouTube’s channel store and allows YouTube TV to offer Paramount+ in forthcoming packages.

The agreement also enables YouTube TV to continue offering over 100 channels and add-ons, giving users more choice. A spokesperson for YouTube said that the company appreciates its subscribers’ patience during the negotiations and looks forward to extending its partnership with Paramount.

Paramount Global CEO Chris McCarthy has secured a victory in this deal, which was seen as a significant challenge given the company’s pending merger with Skydance Media. The agreement marks a win for the carrier in carriage fights, which have become increasingly complex in the era of cord-cutting and streaming adoption.

For users, there is no change: CBS will remain part of YouTube TV’s channel lineup without an additional charge. The deal allows YouTube TV to maintain its position as one of the largest pay-TV operators in the US, with over 8 million subscribers.
