Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has warned that his country expects a strong response from Western countries to the ongoing Russian drone attacks. In a video address, Zelenskiy stated that Russia’s strikes target not only Ukrainian people but also international efforts to end the war.
The attacks have increased significantly, with 172 drones directed at Ukraine overnight, including 94 downed by Ukrainian forces. Zelenskiy emphasized that Russia is targeting everyone who seeks to end the war and called for a “serious response” from Western nations, particularly the US, Europe, and other countries relying on diplomacy.
The US has brokered two ceasefires in recent days, but Ukraine and Russia continue to accuse each other of violating these accords. Zelenskiy also discussed ongoing military operations along the front line with his top military commander and reported that Ukrainian forces are maintaining a presence in western Russia’s Kursk region despite Russian recapture of territory.
The situation remains tense, with mass drone attacks reported in cities like Kharkiv and Dnipro, resulting in casualties. Zelenskiy’s demands for a strong Western response reflect the escalating nature of the conflict.
