Zelenskyy Calls for ‘Action from America’ in Response to Russian Drone, Missile Attack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has demanded “action from America” after a wave of Russian drone and missile strikes hit cities across Ukraine. At least eight people were killed, and many more injured, as the attacks targeted civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and residential buildings.

The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia launched 322 “air attack vehicles,” consisting of 315 drones and seven missiles, which resulted in the downing or neutralization of 277 drones and seven missiles. The majority of damage was sustained by civilian infrastructure.

Cities such as Odesa, Kyiv, and Chernihiv were among those hit during the latest barrage. In Odesa, two people were killed, and nine others injured, while one person died in Kyiv, with four others hurt. Closer to the front lines, five people were killed, and 19 injured due to airbomb attacks.

Zelenskyy expressed outrage at the targeting of a maternity hospital in Odesa, stating that “even a maternity hospital became a Russian target.” He called on the international community, particularly the US, Europe, and other nations that have advocated for diplomacy, to take concrete action against Russia’s aggression.
