Zelenskyy Demands International Pressure on Russia After Deadly Kyiv Missile Strike

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is calling for increased international pressure on Russia following a deadly missile strike in Kyiv that killed 23 people. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, was part of a large-scale barrage by Russia aimed at overwhelming Ukrainian air defenses.

The strike targeted an apartment building in the Solomianskyi district, causing widespread destruction and claiming multiple lives. Zelenskyy has visited the site and paid tribute to the victims, urging the international community to apply more pressure on Russia to agree to a ceasefire.

Russia has intensified its attacks on urban residential areas in recent weeks, with President Vladimir Putin denying that his military has targeted civilians. However, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha claims that Russia is “manipulating” its willingness to end the war.

The situation remains tense, with no signs of progress in U.S.-led peace efforts. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine entered its fourth year earlier this month, with both sides engaging in a summer offensive on parts of the front line.
