US chip maker Micron Technology has exceeded sales forecasts by delivering revenue of around $50 billion for its fourth fiscal quarter, driven by high demand for computer memory chips fueled by the growing need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. This surge in demand led to price increases and shortages of the components. Analysts had predicted an average revenue of $43.2 billion, while profit is expected to reach approximately $31 per share, surpassing projections of $25.31.
