The most expensive Surface device is the Surface Laptop 8, which costs $600 more than its predecessor, while the Surface Pro 12 also carries a significant price increase. However, Microsoft will include a free keyboard to ease the pain for customers who purchase the new Surface Pro 12th-Gen before June 30.
While some may be drawn in by the latest chips and colors, others might find it hard to justify the higher cost. For those looking for an alternative, options like the Dell XPS 13 with a Snapdragon X Elite processor and 32GB of RAM might be more appealing.
In other news, MSI’s new gaming handheld, the Claw 8 EX AI+, has been praised for its performance but is priced at $1,799, which may not offer the best value. Additionally, Windows Central has reviewed the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard, which offers a large haptic trackpad and can be used wirelessly or when attached.
Despite the lack of fanfare surrounding their launch, Microsoft’s new Surface devices do include some notable features, such as the innovative privacy screen on the Surface Laptop 8 for Business. However, the company could have done more to create buzz around their announcements.
