Director Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, is set to hit theaters soon. The latest trailer showcases actress Zendaya as the Greek goddess Athena.
In the film, Athena visits Odysseus (Matt Damon) after he gets stranded on a beach. She asks him about his past adventures, which include fighting monsters and surviving storms at sea. Meanwhile, Odysseus’s family faces challenges in Ithaca, including Penelope (Anne Hathaway) dealing with suitors and their son Telemachus (Tom Holland).
The trailer also features a large cast, including John Leguizamo as Eumaeus, Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy and her sister Clytemnestra, and Elliot Page as Sinon. The film seems to be promising an epic battle between humans and gods.
With its star-studded cast and Nolan’s direction, The Odyssey has fans excited for its release on July 17.
